What a week so far. Allyson has been at the hospital two times this week. On Monday she had an EEG that the neurologist wanted done. I woke her up around 6:40am which is early for her. The purpose was to get her tired for the EEG. Allyson was awake at the house but as soon as we put her in the car to go for the appointment, she wanted to go to sleep. I had to keep her awake until we got to the hospital. She was not to happy. Matt stayed with her the whole time. They swaddled her so they could put the electrodes on her head. Matt said it took about 15 minutes for her to fall asleep. She was only asleep for about half an hour and then woke her up. They washed her hair a little bit, but it smelled so bad from the glue. After the EEG, we went to see Dr. Timmons the neurologist. He diagnosed her with Febrile Seizures. He said if she had anymore just call the office and let them know. On the way home Allyson fell asleep. On Wednesday Allyson had a CT of her neck. Matt and I kept her up as late as possible on Tuesday night. She went to bed at 11pm. I was happy when we had to wake her up right before we left. I woke her up and my mom changed her clothes and diaper. Got her in the car and left. Checked in at Radiology. They called us back for Allyson medical history and to put the IV in. It took the nurses two times to get the IV in her. the first one they tried was in her foot, but that one blew. Finally the second one in her hand worked. Allyson cried and screamed while the nurses tried to put the IV in. I hated standing there and watching her scream and cry. After the IV we were waiting for the room to be cleaned and cleared. after 15 minutes we went to the room for the CT scan. They started the medicine so they she would go to sleep. It took a few seconds and she was out. They layed her on the machine. the whole process took less then 10 minutes. They had to tape her jaw to her face because she was snoring so badly and to get a good picture of her neck. Once the CT was over, the nurse stopped giving her the sedation medication. They took her back to the room so that she could start waking up. The nurse took a wet wash cloth and was wiping Allyson face so she would start waking up. A minute later, she was awake and happy. Before we left we had to make sure she could drink her milk and keep it down.
